Before co-founding Asiastep, Tonny Hansen was the Director of
International
Sales for Aplix Corporation of America where he successfully
bootstrapped their
international sales operation leading to a successful IPO in the
Japanese Mothers stock market.
Prior to that, he spent nine years at Sun Microsystems where he was
instrumental in closing software licensing agreements for the Solaris
operating system, Java, and other Sun software stack with Fujitsu,
Toshiba, Matsushita, Softbank and other major OEM's, system
integrators,
and distributors.
He has extensive marketing and sales experience that spans the globe:
Japan
and Asia, North America, and EMEA. He has experience with
microprocessors at Intel, as well as graphics, storage controllers and
motherboards at Western Digital.
He has held sales, business development, marketing, and engineering
positions at
these companies all of which involved international activities. This experience gives him a unique perspective on the difficulties of
transplanting businesses overseas.
Tonny Hansen holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Columbia University, School
of Engineering and Applied Science and an M.B.A. degree from Pepperdine
University. He is fluent in Japanese.
